The gift just keeps on giving.… Going through Roy’s archival material has been so cool as I have been able to relive his experiences as seen through the 8 mm footage that I have had transferred over the course of creating the film. I feel as though I have traveled with Roy in many instances as I have had the chance to interview many of his friends and then they pop up on the archival footage. Well I have had the chance to see myself in the footage.

The first time I recall meeting Roy he gave me a Japanese kimono, traditional sandals and some beautiful dolls from Japan. He captured the moment in 11 seconds of video that I have teased out a bit more by slowing it down to 70 percent of it’s speed.
